I've Got a Question for You
Are you stuck in your spiritual journey? If so, here is one practical step you can take.
Every once in a while, I like to pause and remind readers what TMC is all about.
The goal of The Monday Christian is to help everyday Christians turn their Sunday belief into Monday action.
The point isn't to merely build a platform just to grow an audience. It's not about covering hot-button topics to generate controversy and form a tribe. Every piece of content is designed to help everyday people like you put your faith into action.
For ten years, I served in full-time Christian ministry. This was a wonderful experience and possibly one I'd do again. It taught me much about the importance of building content from a "shepherd's perspective." Content that isn't merely designed to drive clicks but content that is designed to transform hearts.
That said, the work I do now is very satisfying. I help high-performing business leaders, politicians, and educational leaders write books that connect with their audiences. For example, this past week, I spent time with a new author in Texas and helped him develop material for his upcoming project. In fact, over the past four years, I've ghostwritten over thirty books. (Them is a lot of words! 😄)
While my "9-5 job" isn't "faith-based," I have had many amazing opportunities to share God with others—many of whom have no interest in attending a local church.
Here is why I make this point.
In the past, I would have unintentionally divided my life into chunks – the sacred and secular. During my 9-5, I earned a living. Afterward, I "did ministry" by leading small groups in my home, sharing my faith with others, or attending church. There was the God part of life and my everyday part of life. But I've since grown to hate this divide.
Today, my goal with TMC is to help as many Christians as possible bridge the sacred and secular and help them see that ALL of life is sacred. God cares about how we lead our families, act at work, and spend time on hobbies.
This passion drove me to launch The Monday Christian Daily Devotional last January. I know there are a million and one daily devotional programs out there, many of which are free. But this one is different.
Each day, I walk through a passage of Scripture and attempt to help readers mine the deep truths of God's Word and apply them to their lives. Rather than just a quick inspirational thought, I work hard to cite the most reputable scholars who have so much wisdom to share and give you the "best of the best." The goal is a mixture of depth and practicality.
I want readers to think, but I also want them to do.
Maybe you already have a daily devotional plan. That's great! But if you don't, or if you're struggling to consistently spend time with God, I challenge you to sign up for a free 7-day trial of TMC Daily Devotional.
Yes, it's $9 a month, and yes, I hate subscriptions as much as the next guy. But I challenge you to look at this as a two-fold investment. For the cost of a Starbucks coffee (barely an exaggeration!), you can receive solid content in your inbox each morning and start your day off right. Also, you make it possible for me to continue developing new content, including launching a YouTube channel in 2025.
Regardless, thank you for being part of this TMC newsletter, and I hope to interact with you in the future!
