A Time for Change

The Daily Devotional is now free of charge

A Time for Change

Two and a half years ago, I committed to writing a daily devotional each morning, and during that time, I wrote through The Bible in a Year.

At the close of that year, I reassessed and realized I wanted to stick with a daily devotional but also build a team. One reason is that, in addition to my full-time job as a writer, I've got four young kids in the prime of their formative years and need a dad who is present—not someone spending every spare minute writing devotionals!

So little by little, conversation by conversation, I've built a team of over thirty writers, and I am so grateful for each one. Then, I brought on my friend Jessica Hartkopf to schedule and edit this team of writers, and for the past year, we have worked together to feature their voices.

To make this financially doable, I started with a subscription model, and for the past while, it's been $3.99 a month to sign up. But one of the common complaints I've received is, "Ezra, I'd like my Uncle Bob in Cleveland to receive your daily devotional, but he doesn't need one more subscription in his life." I get it...

So, starting today, TMC is making a pivot: we're offering The Daily Devotional free of charge and switching to a "free will" donation option.

💡

If you like what we do and can support, awesome. If you can't, no problem.

Starting today, if you don't already, you will now receive our Monday-Friday daily devotional, and you can refer anyone you like to receive it as well. If you are a current TMC subscriber and would like to downgrade your subscription, simply visit our website and change your account settings.

Because it takes time and money to schedule each devotional, your support is greatly appreciated, but I also want to make what we are doing accessible to as many people as possible. I also want to value our team of writers by allowing their words to be freely spread to all.

The mission of TMC has been, and will remain, focused on helping everyday people to turn Sunday belief into Monday action. Nothing makes me more excited than hearing from our readers about ways one of our TMC writers challenged them to grow deeper in their faith.

I told several of my writers last week on a Zoom call that it's my goal to invest in them, give them a platform to share their words, and pray God uses what they write to increase people's faith.

Thank you for being one of our readers. I don't take this lightly.
